Over de auteur

Frans Somers studied Quantitative Economics and Law at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and now works as an independent lecturer and consultant, advising universities and businesses, mainly with respect to their internationalisation strategies. He has taught European Economics and Business at the University of Leiden and at Hanze University in the Netherlands and at universities in Prague, Budapest and Moscow.

Karin Davis-Ost studied Teaching Economics at Leiden University, the Netherlands, after studying International Trade & Diplomatic Relations in Antwerp, Belgium. She currently works as a freelance lecturer and as an independent consultant in the power, oil and gas sector, where she specialises in project control systems. For several years she taught Economics and Management Accounting at the Rotterdam University of Applied Science and she has guest lectured on cartel agreements at IPS Instituto Politéchnico Setúbal Portugal and KHK Geel in Belgium. Since 2009 she has been undertaking PhD research in environmental economics with a particular interest in the energy industry and SO2 emissions.

Joost Frencken studied Geography at the Radboud University of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He is senior lecturer in Economics and coordinator of European Union Policies at the Avans School of International Studies (part of the Avans University of Applied Sciences) in Breda, the Netherlands.

Ernst-Jan Heuten studied Industrial Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and Competition Law (post-graduate course) at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands. He works as an expert case handler at the Netherlands Competition Authority in The Hague. He has a lot of practical experience in the application of general European competition legislation as well as in the economic regulation of monopolies. He is an associate of the international research network ENCORE (Economics Network for Competition and Regulation). Previously he was senior lecturer in Economics at the Avans University of Applied Science in Breda.

Egin Lengton studied Dutch Law at Maastricht University and Business Information Science at the University of Twente, the Netherlands. He is on the staff of the Arnhem Business School, where he teaches International and European Law, as well as ICT Law. He works concurrently at LengtonLegal as an independent legal adviser in the field of ICT law and new media.
